Kwoon Chung was founded in 1948 by the late Mr. Wong Kwoon Chung and initially operated car cleaning service company. Shortly after that, it became the best car cleaning service company in Hong Kong.

In 1950, Kwoon Chung began to provide school bus pick-up services.

In the mid-1960s, Kwoon Chung's 28-30 medium-sized buses began to put into service.

In the 1970s, Kwoon Chung opened employee shuttle bus route to formally develop a variety of local non-franchised bus businesses.

In the 1980s, Kwoon Chung began to undertake the residential bus service and explore the bus route in the New Territories.

In 1992, Kwoon Chung acquired the New Lantao Bus (1973) Co., Ltd. to develop franchised bus business. At the same time, it acquired Lantau Tourism.
In 1996, Kwoon Chung Bus was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

From 2003 to 2004, Kwoon Chung vigorously expanded its cross-boundary bus business. Later, it set foot on China's tourism industry and operated the famous Bi Penggou scenic spot in Sichuan.

Kwoon Chung continued to seek breakthroughs. In 2018, it won the first-line minibus route for the first time to further expand its business landscape.
